I spent literally 4 days coming up with a new color scheme and header image for this blog. 3 of those days alone were spent using paint.net (a free image editor) to create a header I enjoyed. Why, pray tell, did it take so long? Because I am nothing if not a perfectionist. To a fault. As in, that yellow is .00001 shade darker than the other! I need to fix it! Ah well, I am content and I can use the time at work I’ve spent trying to get the 2 sidebars even (they are!) on actually writing things. A few other realizations:

  • I don’t have to be perfect to enjoy what I’m doing.
  • It’s far more interesting to think outside the box rather than try to be right and educational all the time
  • I need to get glyphs for nearly all my characters, and Sairyn could DEFINITELY use some new enchants
  • For the above to happen, I should really get back to doing my dailies.
  • MUST. LEVEL. NESME. MORE.
  • About now is a good time to go back through my spell books and remind myself of all the spells I underutilize. I have a habit, especially with my non-priests, of just not casting spells because I forget they’re there. And once I start getting into a rotation, getting me to change is kind of like convincing a kobold you’re REALLY not after his candle.

Tomorrow is raid night again. I was actually really happy on Tuesday. We were a little sloppy in Onyixa and Trial of the Champion, but we were making really solid progress on Yogg’Saron. The brainbusters were getting really REALLY good at shattering the illusions while the others on the outside were clearing the tentacles  lickety split. Dispels even seemed to go up after a few reminders to the healers (but that is a whole ‘nother topic for discussion). We only have 15 people signed up for tomorrow though; I think people are ok with going back into Ulduar so long as they’ve gotten a chance to go somewhere profitable first. On the second night, no one seems interested in going places where gear isn’t a vast improvement. We were thinking about starting tries at the Trial of the Grand Crusader, but that seems unlikely giiven so many people decling their invitations. We’ll see. Maybe my old Zul’Aman group (i.e. the group of officers/in-person friends) will do a quick 10 man Trial of the Crusader for triumph badges then work some more on the 10 man heroic version.

Wish us lucky either way =D

After a wonderful relaxing vacation, I’m back with even more healy goodness! (apparently a little sun is vital to recharge the healing powers –who’dda thunk?) I’ll get back into my healing guides, finishing up Naxx and moving onto some more recent fights from our friends in Ulduar, Vault, and ToC!

In response to my last post, thank you, Blizzard Devs, for making Arthas reappear in a “Really? A fair in my backyard?” kind of way. I like knowing he’s not a complete push-over.

Patch 3.2.2 went live yesterday, and as far as major changes go, there wasn’t much of anything for healers to worry about. Onyxia came out and provided a pretty great challenge (along with oh-so-pretty new gear). More on her later this week.

I’ll have to do some scooping around and see if any of the fabeled pets are up and active on the live realms. I think I might find a few more buddies to coo over, if the Corehound pup/gryphon hatchling/wyvren hatchling/Li’l KT/tiger cub are actually in game.

Other than that, between Brewfest and the large patch, yesterday seemed to be lagariffic on my home server. It took us probably about an hour before everyone was stable enough to go in and get a few attempts on Ony (we did get her down =D).

Speaking of holidays, I figured out it will take around 650 tokens to get all the things I need for the Brewfest Meta Achievement not to mention the cute little pink elekk that only is visible to other players when their in your group or smashed. I think I determined that that was unreasonable given the fact that you really can only do 2 dailies (that add up to 25 tokens) and the ram racing (upwards of 20, though some people are reporting over 40 tokens) every 18 hours. I might follow the lead of one of my guildies – save up enough tokens to buy all the brewfest garb at once, hearth to Dalaran to get super drunk and dance, then go back to the fair and return the garb and use the tokens to buy the stuff I really want for the holiday.

Remember all those wonderful instances while leveling and questing through Northrend where Arthas’ was completely in your in face? I loved the ever looming threat Ice Crown Citadel imposed on the wary residents of Northrend, and I loved Arthas taunting me in various end quests, treating me as if I weren’t worthy to be acknowledged. He was a completely badass villain, and I was getting pumped to show him how I was a force to be reckoned with. We destroyed his bastion of plague, Naxxramas, and along with it some of his more pivotal aides. And then….we got sidetracked. With Old Gods. And lots of machines. And Ponies. Pretty, pretty ponies. See? We adventurers clearly have a case of ADD. Give us shiny epics, and we’ll completely forget that the fate of our world rests on top of a frozen thrown. Tonight, we’ll go back to “test our skills” in the Argent Tournament’s Trial of the Crusader, and the last boss will be thrown our way. It’s no surprise that we’ll be fighting Arthas’ re-risen Arachnid commander, Anub’arak, but I’m hoping for a surprise in the story line. I want Arthas to reappear, and show us that maybe our little faire in his backyard wasn’t such a good idea. I want him to remind me why he’s the end boss of this expansion, and why I want him to be finished once and for all.

And if at some point the dev’s want to tie in Ulduar with the Lich King as well, all the better. Fighting a rampant old God is worthwhile in any case, but if the Lich King manipulated us into killing Yogg’Saron for his own devices (say, control over the faceless or to force Yogg to relinquish any power Arthas might want for himself), that would be icing on the cake.
